Those with even a little search for the must destinations of Chania, know that the beach Falasarna, holds a leading position in the list. It is an endless beach with crystal clear waters and thick pink sand in an unspoiled wider environment. It is not accidental that many times it has been awarded as the best beach in Greece and one of the best in Europe.
Famous is also the party which is organized every year in early August with great success and appeal to locals and visitors!
On the edge of this beach, flourished in the 4th and 3rd century BC century one of the most important settlements – port of Crete and that the origin of the name was given from the local heroine nymph “Falasarni”.
In 67 BC it was destroyed by the Romans to suppress piracy and finally by the earthquakes of 365 AD and 66 BC.
